Eagles Lyrics to Hotel California

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
"This could be Heaven or this could be Hell"
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor
I thought I heard them say

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (Any time of year)
You can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up the Captain
"Please bring me my wine."
He said, "We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine."
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise)
Bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling
The pink champagne on ice
And she said "We are all just prisoners here, of our own device"
And in the master's chambers
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember
I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
"Relax," said the night man
"We are programmed to receive
You can check-out any time you like
But you can never leave!"

"Hotel California" is the title track from the album and it was released as a single in February 1977. Eagles decided to make this song a single though its length and format were completely unlike the radio-friendly singles those days: the song is more than six minutes long, it's hard to dance to it, it has a long introduction and a long guitar solo.

"It's our interpretation of the high life in Los Angeles. It's basically a song about the dark underbelly of the American dream and about excess in America, which is something we knew a lot about." - Don Henley. The word "colitas" means "little buds" or "little tails" in Spanish. The song reached number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 and won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year (1977).

Swim Deep Lyrics to Hotel California

I wanna leave a silhouette out for my soul
Something that I could never hoax
I wanna leave a clumsy rhythm bouncing down the road
Something that's bouncing on out of hope
So let your flowers grow wild so you can show your child
Do I want taste? Do I want recipe?
We could sing the truth, it may sound so sweet
I stole your tale because you told it to be quiet
You told it to be quiet, you told it to be quiet

You told it to be quiet, you told it to be quiet
You told it to be quiet, you told it to be quiet
You told it to be quiet, you told it to be quiet
You told it to be quiet, you told it to...

Where was my mind when I overshot the corner in my head?
I was drunk, singing Hotel California
Where was my mind when I overshot the corner in my head?
I was drunk, singing Hotel California

I wanna be a lip service to my bones
Don't mean to mock this woman who thinks she's a bird
Don't wanna settle, love it, must stay airbourne
You'll hear me, I'll blow your horn
On Christmas day, I'm gonna fly a plane
Fill it up with all my favourite names
Swimming in the clouds, we'll all sing along
"We stole your plane 'cus you said you wouldn't fly it!"
You said you wouldn't fly it! You said you wouldn't fly it!

You said you wouldn't fly it! You said you wouldn't fly it!
You said you wouldn't fly it! You said you wouldn't fly it!
You said you wouldn't fly it! You said you wouldn't fly it!
You said you wouldn't fly it! You said you wouldn't...

Where was my mind when I overshot the corner in my head?
I was drunk, singing Hotel California
Where was my mind when I overshot the corner in my head?
I was drunk, singing Hotel California

'Does an explanation make it any less impressive?'

Yung Pinch Lyrics "When I Get Home (Hotel California)"

The atomix
The atomix
Whooaa
Whoaaa ohh
(The number you dialed is not in service)
Ayy ayy ayy

When I get home
She always blowing up my phone
Can't leave me 'lone (Look)
I could do this on my own
Leave me out
This just ain't what life's about
Girl let's get out
Ain't no need to scream and shout
Yeah
All I know is when it rains it pours (Yeah)
Poppin bottles in the club, from LA to Georgia
Shawty do her thing when she down in Florida (Yeah)
She singing Hotel California

We gonna ball, yeah we gonna ball
I'm on my own, all on my own (Yeah)
Don't try to play me now (Yeah)
Don't try to erase me now (Yeah)
They just can't take me now
But

When I get home
Bet you, you gonna hit my phone
Don't get me wrong
I could do this on my own
I could do this on my own (Yeah, but)
When I get home
Shawty I'm gonna need that dough
Get out that door
You can leave the TV on
She hit me now
Don't know what you bitching 'bout
I dick her down
Then fuck around and kick her out

When I get home
She always blowing up my phone
Can't leave me 'lone (Look)
I could do this on my own
Leave me out
This just ain't what life's about
Girl let's get out
Ain't no need to scream and shout
Yeah
All I know is when it rains it pours (Yeah)
Poppin bottles in the club, from LA to Georgia
Shawty do her thing when she down in Florida (yeah)
She singing Hotel California

(She what?)
Hotel California
Hotel California
Singing Hotel California
Hotel California

Singing Hotel California (Yeah)
Singing Hotel California (Yeah)
Most mans can't afford ya
Baby I just need a sweet
I just need a little treat
Thought she knew I was from the beach
Thought she could tell by the way I speak
I'm on a wave, yeah
I'm on a wave, yeah
I'm on a wave, yeah

When I get home
Everybody hits my phone
Can't leave me 'lone
Where were you before I've blown
Yeah, now I'm blown
Now I'm on, now I'm grown
The time is wrong
Cause now we in two different zones

When I get home
She always blowing up my phone
Can't leave me 'lone (Look)
I could do this on my own
Leave me out
This just ain't what life's about
Girl let's get out
Ain't no need to scream and shout

Madilyn Bailey Lyrics to Hotel California (originally by Eagles)

On a dark desert highway
Cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas
Rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance
I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
"This could be Heaven or this could be Hell"
Then she lit up a candle
And she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor
I thought I heard them say

"Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (Any time of year)
You can find it here"

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted
She got the Mercedes Benz
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys
She calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard
Sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember
Some dance to forget
So I called up the Captain
"Please bring me my wine"
He said, "We haven't had that spirit here since 1969"
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say

"Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
They living it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise)
Bring your alibis"

Mirrors on the ceiling
The pink champagne on ice
And she said: "We are all just prisoners here
Of our own device"
And in the master's chambers
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax," said the night man
"We are programmed to receive
You can check out any time you like
But you can never leave! "

TQ Lyrics to Hotel California 2003

Where my folks at
It's your boy
And we're about to take it back (can we go back a little bit)
Way back (back a little bit)
That's right

Wake up, wake up, holla at ya boy
I gotta little story to tell ya
I know I've been gone for a minute
But I'm back on the block
Coming right back where I left ya
I represent the worldwide westside
You heard many times
I'm California's son
Go get a case of ice cold coronas and
Meet me at the corner and
I tell ya how the west was won

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
"This could be heaven or this could be hell"
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way

Clueso Lyrics to Hotel California (feat. Bausa)

Ich bin im Hotel California eingecheckt
Fünfundvierzigtausend Grad und kein Gepäck
Weil die Erinnerung trotzdem nicht weggeht
Nehm ich noch 'nen Shot fürs Gedächtnis
Ich bin im Hotel California eingecheckt
Vierzig Stunden keinen Schlaf und leicht geschwächt
Alle wollen, dass es heute nicht wehtut
In jeder Ecke Träume und Sehnsucht
Ich bleibe erstmal hier

Blasphemie
Wasser in meinem Whiskey
Gefallener Engel an der Bar
Wer ist sie?
Weißes Kleid, an der Hand teurer Edelstein
Könnte aus dem Himmel oder Hölle sein
Fünf Kutten kommen rein
Sons of Anarchy
Concierge, kalter Schweiß, böse Energie
Geh auf Distanz und bleibe cool
Bestell 'nen Drink im Liegestuhl
Panik hinter Jalousien

Mobiliar, Import Modena
Unterarm, Ticktack Audemars
Dieser Weg kennt kein Wiedersehen
Einmal kommen, nie mehr gehen

Ich bin im Hotel California eingecheckt
Fünfundvierzigtausend Grad und kein Gepäck
Weil die Erinnerung trotzdem nicht weggeht
Nehm ich noch 'nen Shot fürs Gedächtnis
Ich bin im Hotel California eingecheckt
Vierzig Stunden keinen Schlaf und leicht geschwächt
Alle wollen, dass es heute nicht wehtut
In jeder Ecke Träume und Sehnsucht
Ich bleibe erstmal hier

Welcome to the Hotel California

Her mind is 'Tiffany-twisted', she got the 'Mercedes bends'
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up the Captain
'Please bring me my wine'
He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here since 1969'
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise
Bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling
The pink champagne on ice
And she said, 'We are all just prisoners here of our own device'
And in their masters' chambers
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
Tryin' to find the passage back
To the place I was before
'Relax', said the night man
